Born – 8th May, 1828

Died – 24th December, 1898 (aged 70)

Veneration - Roman Catholic Church and Eastern Catholic Church

Beatified -5 December 1965

Canonised - 9 October 1977

Feast - 3rd Sunday in July (Maronite Calendar), July 24 (Roman Calendar)


Born Youssef Antoun Makhlouf he took the name Charbel, after a Christian martyr in Antioch from the 2nd century. A great number of miracles have been attributed to him since his death.
